This is a great way to motivate your erg workouts, shake off the rust and avoid cabin fever as we endure the winter and look toward spring and open water!

This event will follow a mini-CrashB format. In the Erg Challenge, individual rowers can compete for best individual times in youth, junior, open, masters and veteran categories (masters and veterans divided by decade) with medals awarded in each category. In the Erg ThROWdown, high school teams will compete in crews of eights, fours, novice, and a coxswain’s race that was a hit last year. Medals and trophies will be awarded for the fastest boat using ergs electronically connected to provide a composite time.

Masters and Open events start at 10:00 AM.

The event is sponsored by Mystic River Rowing, Stonington High School and the Ocean Community YMCA.

To Register for the Erg Challenge:

Coastweeks Results

Dear Mystic River Rowers and Friends,

First-time Coastweeks rowers Tara King Clark (L) and Mlada Bukovansky (R) following their race in the Women’s Recreational Singles category.

Congratulations and thanks for excellent volunteering and rowing.  Yesterday’s Coastweeks seemed the best ever – weather, event execution, the course, judging, rowing and medals.  Special note of Tom Stottlemyer, Janis Mink, Tara King, Mlada Bukovansky and Haley Barravecchia for winning a total of 7 medals!

Also special thanks to Charlie Clapp for coaching many of our medal winners in August and racing the old blue boat well!

Great job and the season is not over.

Tom
